Procedure
Citation counts were generated using the Web of Science® search engine for all articles, chapters, and books of current regular and emeritus/retired professors in the Department of Psychology at Queen's University. The Web of Science® engine was used to search three databases: (1) Science Citation Index Expanded; (2) Social Science Citation Index; and (3) Arts and Humanities Citation Index. The years being search ranged from the earliest possible year of 1945, up to February 22, 2005. Article and chapter searches, using the author's surname and initials, were conducted using the "general search" option. Total citations for each work, using the author's surname and initials, were generated and downloaded into an SPSS database. Authored and edited books were searched using the "cited reference search" option, which provided the total number of citations for each work. Each book that was cited incorrectly (i.e. typo) had its own citation count, therefore, a grand total was calculated for each book by summing these totals.
