Queen's International Institute on Social Policy is holding a "Skills Development and at Risk Populations in the 21st Century" conference from August 19-21st, 2013. Please visit their website for further information.

The Canadian Graduate Journal of Sociology and Criminology (CGJSC) is a peer-reviewed, open-access, bilingual and online journal hosted by the University of Waterloo. It is intended as a journal for graduate students at both the master and doctoral level. The aim of CGJSC is to extend intellectual boundaries by providing students with a setting to share new and innovative research ideas and by providing networking opportunities for students across Canada. CGJSC is actively seeking submissions of original research for our special upcoming thematic issue entitled “Women and Prisons”, which is expected to be published March 2014 in celebration of International Women’s Month. Social Research and demonstration corporation is seeking to identify a pool of interested and qualified candidates to whom it can offer contracts to facilitate one-to-two hour-long workshops with high school students to enable them to apply for a place in post-secondary education and for student aid. The Board of Directors of the Canadian Psychological Association has opened nominations for the Editorship of the Canadian Journal of Behavioural Science (CJBS) for the years 2014-2017.  Candidates must be members of CPA and should be available to start receiving manuscripts January 1st, 2014 to prepare for issues to be published in 2015.

Published with grant support from the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada, CJBS publishes original, empirical contributions in the following areas of psychology: abnormal, behavioural, community, counselling, educational, environmental, developmental, health, industrial-organizational, clinical, neuropsychological, personality, psychometrics, and social.

A Study on Brain Activity and Relationships,specifically The Neurobiology of Adult Attachment is currently taking place.Participants are required for this study, and compensation is provided. Please see the poster for further contact information.

The APA Science Directorate supports science-oriented psychology graduate students each year through its Students Awards Programs. Two awards are currently being advertised-the APA Science Student Council Early Researcher Award and the APA Dissertation Research Awards. For both awards the deadline is September 16, 2013, and applications are welcome from graduate students in any research specialty area.
