DEPARTMENT OFFICES CLOSING DECEMBER 23RD (Candace Hartley)
The Department will be closing for the Holiday Season at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, December 23, 2010. We will re-open on Monday, January 3, 2011.
Note: the University will close at noon on December 24th, 2010.  We wish everyone a safe and happy holiday.
 
NAGS AWARDS
2010-2011 Northeastern Association of Graduate Schools (NAGS) Awards. School of Graduate Studies DEADLINE: THURSDAY, JANUARY 13, 2011. All nomination materials must be submitted in Adobe pdf file format to Leisa McDonald, outlined on the application information at the following website:

ATTENTION STUDENTS
CFI has recently launched a competition for 2 student science journalism awards worth $2500 apiece. The two student winners of the 'pitch' contest will each receive $2500 to help pay for the research, reporting and crafting of an in-depth journalistic piece about any of the nearly 7,000 research projects that the CFI has funded across Canada. Funds may be used for travel and other reporting expenses and up to $1500 may be retained by the student as a stipend. Deadline for 'pitch' ideas is  February 1, 2011. GRADUATE STUDENTS
Cultural Identity in Contemporary Germany - Hamburg between Global Modernity and Local Patrimony, May 2-13, 2011.  Graduate students from across Canada are invited to apply to participate in an interdisciplinary ten-day study tour to Hamburg and the surrounding region providing unique first-hand insights into present-day Germany.  See further details attached.

The Ontario Association on Developmental Disabilities (OADD) Research Special Interest Group (RSIG) is inviting proposals for presentations and posters for its annual research conference, to be held Thursday, April 17, 2011 at Four Points Sheraton Hotel, in St. Catharines, Ontario. The Department of Psychology at Mount Royal University, Calgary, Alberta invites applications for two tenure-track positions which will commence August 15, 2011.  One position in Biological Psychology, Behavioural Neuroscience or Neuroscience area.
