THE PEER SUPPORT CENTRE - consists of a group of dedicated student volunteers who provide welcoming, confidential, and empathetic peer-based support to students at Queen's University. Students are encouraged to come and speak with volunteers who will listen and offer support for any and all issues. Nothing is too big or too small. They are located in
Room 34 of the JDUC (facing the Publishing and Copy Centre, turn right and walk to the very end of the hallway), open from
2:00pm to 11:30pm, every day of the week. Students can drop-in to the Centre or can call to speak with a volunteer at

Hospice Kingston - A film screening and teaching by Stephen Jenkinson, MST, MSW, Visionary & Spiritual Activist - "Griefwalker", a National Film Board of Canada documentary on Wednesday, March 20, 2013, 7:00-10:00pm in Chernoff Auditorium, Queen's University, 90 Bader Lane, Kingston. $15 cash at the door. Providence Care - Cognitive Behavioural Therapy Skills: Leading Collaborative & Effective Therapy Groups with Michaela David, Ph.D., C. Psych. Two-Day Course: January 21 & 22, 2013. This course will emphasize CBT skills for effective groups, including: the benefits of group CBT: group selection, safety and set-up: tips for agenda and goal setting; using Socratic dialogue and other methods to enhance the group process; using common CBT tools in a group; capturing client stengths and resilience; and common therapist errors in CBT group settings.
