 **We planned to have the next Departmental meeting a week early, however, since this falls on March Break week, we will have the meeting on March 20th at 2:30, our regular time slot, Rod Lindsay will Chair, and there will be a motion on the Hiring Plan**


CONFERENCES/LECTURES/SEMINARS


“Priming, Timing, Miming”
workshop lead by Dr. Lindy Kilik focuses on Behavioural Model of care planning for persons with a dementia. Workshop participants will gain an understanding of how dementia-related brain changes can result in challenging care-related behaviours and also learn how to apply this straightforward, yet powerful behavioural model to provide effective, individualized care.  The course includes demonstrations and small group exercises, with an emphasis on experiential learning and group discussion. Participants will be provided with a “Priming, Timing, Miming” Behavioural Care Plan Template for their own use. Fourth International Conference on Families with Parental Mental Health Challenges, April 25 - April 27, 2014, Ed Roberts Campus, Berkeley California, USA. This conference will bring researchers, educators, policy-makers, and providers from across disciplines together with members of the judiciary and those with lived experience. The primary aim is to share knowledge and experience, to advance the rights and highlight the needs of families striving to live well with parental mental health challenges. Related objectives include provision of an interactive forum to discuss common experiences, effective and evidence informed support and advocacy strategies, and contemporary, cutting edge research. Department of Psychology, Queen's University, Distinguished Lecture Series 2013/2014:

 Talks are scheduled between 2:30-4:30pm in BIOSCI 1103 and will be followed by refreshments in the Psychology Department Lounge, Craine 214. Details regarding each speaker and their lecture will be posted on the Department website: http://www.queensu.ca/psychology/news/Talks-Colloquia.html.  

JOB OPPORTUNITIES  

Please see the attached call for fellowships at Aarhus Institute of Advanced Studies (AIAS). The call is for fellowships of up to three years (6 -36 months) for junior researchers  (with 2 years of experience after their PhD) and senior researchers. Fellowships in all fields of research are given out. Having established contacts to, or collaboration with, Aarhus University researchers is an advantage.  Deadline for applications is March 21 2014.
