Welcome Linda Booij (Rick Beninger):

Please join me in welcoming Linda Booij to the Department. Linda arrived this week and is setting up her office, Craine 429. We are all very pleased to have Linda as our new colleague.

THE PEER SUPPORT CENTRE - consists of a group of dedicated student volunteers who provide welcoming, confidential, and empathetic peer-based support to students at Queen's University. Students are encouraged to come and speak with volunteers who will listen and offer support for any and all issues. Nothing is too big or too small. They are located in Room 34 of the JDUC (facing the Publishing and Copy Centre, turn right and walk to the very end of the hallway), open from 2:00pm to 11:30pm, every day of the week. Students can drop-in to the Centre or can call to speak with a volunteer at (613-533-6000 ext. 75111. For more information, click on the website: www.amspeersupport.com.

CONFERENCES/SEMINARS

Society for Music Perception and Cognition meeting in Toronto- August 8 - 11, 2013.The SMPC offers a number of merit-based awards each year providing recognition for outstanding research. Those interested in presenting should submit abstracts no longer than 300 words describing the motivation, methodology, results, and implications to the degree that this information is available at the time of submission. JOB OPPORTUNITIES

McMaster University - Teaching Track Position, Neuroscience & Behaviour. The Department of Psychology, Neuroscience & Behaviour (PNB) at McMaster University invites applications for a teaching-track Faculty position at the Assistant Professor level, to begin on July 1, 2013.  Candidates should have a Ph.D. in Psychology as well as experience teaching undergraduate students.  Please send CV, statement of teaching interests, supporting documents relevant to teaching credentials, and 3 letters of reference in PDF format via email.
