Baby Announcement of Angela Howell-Moneta and Fabio Moneta: We are happy to announce the arrival of our newest family member, Giuliano Paolo Moneta. He made the finale of 2013 very exciting for us when he finally arrived on Dec. 28 at 2:30pm. (He waited until the freezing rain ice storm and Christmas celebration was over to join us!). He weighed in at 4177g (9lbs, 3oz) and is 54cm long. He is a lovely happy baby who seems ready to join in the fun with Giacomo and Sofia. Angela is also doing well. Please click here to see photo.

Queen's-Blyth International Studies Program:
In a memo dated January 7, 2014, Provost Alan Harrison announced that Queen's will not be renewing the Queen's-Blyth International Studies Program agreement beyond the three-year pilot phase that took place in 2012, 2013 and will continue 2014. Thus, the Queen's-Blyth Worldwide course offerings for May 2014 will take place as planned but will be the last of the program.

The Ontario Association on Developmental Disabilities (OADD) Research Special Interest Group (RSIG)
is inviting proposals for presentations and posters for its annual conference, to be held Friday, April 11th, 2014 at the Ambassador Conference Resort, Kingston, Ontario. RSIG was formed to provide an opportunity for researchers, professionals, and other interested individuals, working in the field of developmental disabilities to exchange research, ideas, resources, and concerns. We welcome research from all disciplines and areas of research related to developmental disabilities. We accept both quantitative and qualitative research. We are excited to be able to offer on-line submissions this year. The deadline for abstract submissions is January 17th, 2014. Call for Volunteers (Graduate Students): The 44th Annual Ontario Psychology Undergraduate Thesis Conference will be hosted by our Department at Queen's University on May 9, 2014. Help will be very much appreciated. 

The Department of Psychology at Trent Universityinvites applications for a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor rank with specialization in one or all of the areas of Brain, Behaviour and Cognitive Science. The position is subject to budgetary approval and will commence July 1, 2014. The review of applicants will begin on February 14, 2014 and continue until the position is filled. The Department of Psychology, University of Manitoba invites applications for a full-time tenure-track appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor in quantitative psychology. Responsibilities will include maintaining a productive research program, graduate supervision, undergraduate and graduate teaching, and service to the Department, Faculty, and University. The appointment may begin on or after July 1, 2014. Review of applications will begin on January 15, 2014 and will continue until the position is filled. Please click here for more information.

The Faculty of Science at Brandon University invites applications for a tenure stream position in the Department of Psychology at the rank of Assistant Professor. Responsibilities: The successful applicant will teach courses in Research Methods, Advanced Research Methods, and Perception, and will be expected to supervise undergraduate research theses. Application Deadline: February 7, 2014 or until position is filled Start Date: August 1, 2014. The Department of Psychology at Bishop’s University (Sherbrooke, Quebec) invites applications for a tenure–track position in Clinical Psychology starting July 1, 2014 (conditional upon funding).  Appointment will be at the Assistant Professor level so applicants must have completed a PhD in Clinical Psychology. Applicants should provide a letter of intent, current curriculum vitae, a statement of research achievements and future objectives, a teaching dossier outlining their pedagogical approach, evidence of teaching excellence, and at least two letters of reference to: Dale Stout, PhD. The Department of Psychology at the University of Toronto
invites applications for a teaching-stream appointment at the rank of Lecturer, effective on or after July 1, 2014. The successful candidate will have the ability to teach a broad range of undergraduate courses from introductory to advanced levels in courses situated in our Brain and Behaviour and related areas. We seek an enthusiastic and innovative individual who is interested in establishing a long-term teaching career. Priority will be given to candidates with strong quantitative skills.
