CONGRATULATIONS! (RICK BENINGER)
Congratulations to Lola Cuddy on being made a fellow of the Association for Psychological Science. This distinction recognizes Lola's extensive contributions to the psychological science of music. Lola's work has focused on the perceptual, cognitive and emotional processes involved in music appreciation and understanding.

CONGRATULATIONS! (CANDACE HARTLEY)
Congratulations Dianne Flint on accepting the Graduate Assistant position in Political Studies. Dianne has worked diligently to ensure our Graduate Program is top notch, making a positive impact on numerous students since 2007. She has decided to transfer these skills to the Political Studies Department, so please join us on Thursday February 2nd at 3pm in the Craine Lounge for some "coffee and cake" to wish Dianne farewell and best of luck!

ACTING ASSOCIATE DEAN (STUDIES) VACANCY
There will be a vacancy for the position of Acting Associate Dean (Studies) in the Faculty of Arts and Science from July 1, 2012 to June 30, 2013. Faculty members, staff and students are invited to submit nominations (or self-nominations) of members of faculty within the Faculty of Arts and Science to serve in this position. Nominations should be sent to Dean Alistair MacLean at deanartsci@queensu.ca by Friday, February 3, 2012.

2012 SWAP MENTORING AWARD
Section of Women & Psychology (SWAP) Feminist Mentoring Award. The purpose of the SWAP Feminist Mentoring Award is to recognize feminist supervisors who have promoted the advancement of their students through exceptional mentoring. Nominations are invited from students and recent graduates who wish to acknowledge a professor who promotes feminist scholarship, teaching, and practice and who has been pivotal to their graduate/post-graduate experience. NAOMI GRIGG FELLOWSHIP FOR POST-GRADUATE STUDIES IN GERONTOLOGY 2012
Soroptimist International of Toronto, a service club of business and professional women, is offering in 2012 a Fellowship of $5,000 to a person who is a resident of Ontario and is enrolled as a full-time student in a post-graduate degree program--Masters or PhD or a post-graduate program leading to a specialized professional degree. Principles of Uncertainty Conference
. Call for Papers. The students of the Department of Comparative Literature at the City University of New York Graduate Center present the first annual interdisciplinary conference on literary theory to be held Friday, May 4, 2012. The conference is being given in support of the CUNY Graduate Center's proposed certificate for Critical Theory, which is dedicated to the study of literary and critical theory.
