Queens Faculty, Staff & Retirees are invited to nominate candidates for a Queen's Distinguished Service Award. Inaugurated by the University Council in 1974, this award recognizes individuals who have made the University a better place through their extraordinary contributions. Recipients become Honorary Life Members of the Council. Recent changes to the University Council By-Laws now enable Queen's employees & retirees to nominate recipients, who will be recognized at the University Council Annual Dinner on Friday October 18, 2013. The Canadian Graduate Journal of Sociology and Criminology (CGJSC) is a peer-reviewed, open-access, bilingual and online journal hosted by the University of Waterloo. It is intended as a journal for graduate students at both the master and doctoral level. The aim of CGJSC is to extend intellectual boundaries by providing students with a setting to share new and innovative research ideas and by providing networking opportunities for students across Canada. CGJSC is actively seeking submissions of original research for our special upcoming thematic issue entitled “Women and Prisons”, which is expected to be published March 2014 in celebration of International Women’s Month. The APA Science Directorate supports science-oriented psychology graduate students each year through its Students Awards Programs. Two awards are currently being advertised-the APA Science Student Council Early Researcher Award and the APA Dissertation Research Awards.
