Congratulations to Li-Jun Ji (Ron Holden) she has been selected by AGSIP to be the recipient of the 2012-2013 Graduate Teaching Award. The vote was unanimously agreed upon.

Funding Opportunity: Brain Canada Platform Support Grants - Brain Canada is pleased to launch a consultation with the research community, research institutions and potential funding partners, about its planned Platform Support Grants (PSGs), intended to contribute to the operating costs of national or regional research platforms that serve large numbers of researchers in the neurosciences. Brain Canada intends that the PSGs will make possible the coordination and linking of existing local, provincial, or regional infrastructure into a national platform. Brain Canada invites interested parties to submit informal Expressions of Interest, which will guide the content of the final Request for Applications, and facilitate the formation of national platforms. Summaries of Expressions of Interest will be posted on a moderated discussion forum, and any interested party may comment on them. Brain Canada may also discuss submissions with potential research and funding partners. Confidential submissions and comments are also welcome. Fordham University, with the support of a grant from the John Templeton Foundation, invites proposals for the "New Perspectives on the Psychology of Understanding" funding initiative. Our aim is to encourage research from both new and established scholars working on projects related to understanding in its many forms. This $1.2 million RFP is intended to support empirical work in cognitive, developmental, educational, and other areas of psychology. The Third Annual OISE Indigenous Education Network Mental Health Symposium is on May 30th, 2013 at the Native Canadian Centre of Toronto. The overarching goal of this Symposium is to build on our previous and current conceptions of Indigenous psychology and to provide new and innovative information, inquiry, and synthesis of mental health issues and solutions from Aboriginal knowledges. Through the development of new insights regarding Indigenous psychology throughout the Symposium, cutting edge and creative theories and models for addressing current mental health needs, including programming, counseling and assessments of Indigenous peoples in Canada. Department of Psychology at Brock University invites applications for two twelve-month limited term appointments as Lecturer/Assistant Professor, effective July 1, 2013. Preferred qualifications are a Ph.D (ABD may be considered) in psychology with the ability to teach statistics and methods at the graduate and/or undergraduate level. The teaching load is two courses per term. One of the successful candidates will be expected to teach a full-year graduate statistics course (PSYC 5F01). York University is accepting applicants for a Postdoctoral Position in the Social Cognition Lab in the Department of Psychology. This position is available for two years to begin Summer or Fall 2013.
