TRUDEAU FOUNDATION 2013 DOCTORAL SCHOLARSHIPS
The foundation grants up to fifteen new scholarships every year to outstanding doctoral degree candidates in the social sciences and humanities.  The scholarships are applicable only to students applying to a doctoral programme for admission in 2013-2014, or already registered in the first or second year of a doctoral programme.  Applications are to go directly to the School of Graduate Studies, deadline:  November 15, 2012.  For complete instructions and application procedures, click here.

ONTARIO GRADUATE SCHOLARSHIP (OGS)

The Ontario Graduate Scholarship (OGS) program is designed to encourage excellence in graduate studies at the master's and doctoral levels.  All current students applying to OGS must have their applications and their supporting documents submitted by the deadline of February 8, 2013 to the Psychology Graduate Office.  Please note that SGS OGS application details are not yet available.  Please keep checking the website for further updates.  For details, click here.  For OGS student checklist, click here.

2013-14 FULBRIGHT COMPETITIONS AND FULBRIGHT WEBINAR
Fulbright Canada runs a wide range of programs that support exceptional Canadian students and scholars who wish to study, do research, or lecture in the United States:  Fulbright Student Program (Available to Canadian graduate students who want to study and/or do research in the United States for nine months during the 2013-2014 academic year) Competition Closes:  November 15, 2012.  Fulbright Scholar and Chairs Program (Available to Canadian Scholars and senior professionals who want to lecture and/or do research in the United States during the 2013-2014 academic year) Competition Closes:  November 15, 2012.  There will be a Fulbright Canada webinar on Friday, October 26, 2012 at 12pm EST for students and scholars interested in the Fulbright Program.  To register, click here.  For student brochure, click here.

CONFERENCES/LECTURES/SEMINARS

Department of Psychology Distinguished Speaker - Ewan A. Macpherson, Ph.D.   Friday, October 26, 2:30pm  Ellis Auditorium.  Action for auditory perception: The role of head movements and sensorimotor integration in sound localization.  Dr. Macpherson is from the faculty of the School of Communication Sciences and Disorders and the National Centre for Audiology at the University of Western Ontario.  For more information, click here.

Department of Psychology Colloquium Series -
As part of the Psychology Colloquium series and the seminar series for the Queen's University Group for Research in Reproductive and Developmental Origins of Health, Disability and Disease, Dr. Sari van Anders, Assistant Professor, Psychology & Women's Studies, Faculty Member, Neuroscience Program, Reproductive Sciences Program, University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, (http://www.personl.umich.edu/) will be visiting Queen's University to give a seminar entitled "Testosterone, Sexual Desire, and Gender/Sex", on  Friday, November 2, 2012, at 3pm, School of Medicine Building, Room 032A (lower lecture theatre).  For Dr. van Anders' abbreviated CV, click here.

Queen's University Continuing Professional Development present - "Doc, I Can't Sleep" Saturday, October 20th, 2012 Donald Gordon Centre. Allistair MacLean will be begin the program with Introduction and Welcome at 8:45am. The Department of Psychology at the University of Toronto - invites applications for a tenure-stream appointment in the field of Cognitive Development.  The appointment will be at the rank of Assistant Professor and will begin on July 1, 2013.  Applications will be reviewed beginning November 15, 2012 and continue until the position is filled.  For details, click here.
