Friday, November 30, 2012, 12:30pm to 7:00pm at the Kingston Curling Club.  Registration begins at 12:30pm.  Rink time is 1:00pm to 3:00pm and dinner to follow.  Cost and details TBA.

TRI-COUNCIL (NSERC,SSHRC, CIHR) WORKSHOP
Tuesday, October 2, 9:00-12:00pm, MacDonald Hall, Room 3. As part of continued efforts to expand resource material available to Principal Investigators and their administrative support Tri_Council grants, the Office of Research Services and Financial Services will be offering a training and information session. THE SUMMER WORK EXPERIENCE PROGRAM (SWEP)
The program encourages the creation of on-campus summer jobs that provide Queen's undergraduate students valuable experiences. Note: You will need an id and password to MyCareer to submit your proposal (post a job). If you do not already have an id and password please submit your request on-line here. The deadline for submission of SWEP job proposals is October 31. 

CONFERENCES/LECTURES/SEMINARS

Queen's International Development Conference - will host Distinguished Canadian Diplomat and Former Al Qaeda Hostage Robert Fowler on Friday, October 12th, 2012, doors open at 6:30p.m. at the Residence Inn Marriott Kingston Water's Edge Hotel. Topic: "Designed to Fail: Why our Expectations About What 'Development' Can Accomplish Have Been Utterly Unreasonable". Cost: Queen's Students $10/ticket, General Admission $20/ticket and can be purchased at Common Ground until Friday, Sept. 28th, 10am - 6pm or up until the event at Indigo Bookstore, 259 Princess Street, Kingston, ON. University of Guelph-Humber 43rd Annual Ontario Undergraduate Psychology Thesis Conference - the conference will be held on Friday May 3rd, 2013. To check for call for submissions, please visit the web-page here.

Queen's University Continuing Professional Development present - "Doc, I Can't Sleep" Saturday, October 20th, 2012 Donald Gordon Centre. Allistair MacLean will be begin the program with Introduction and Welcome at 8:45am. JOB OPPORTUNITIES

Ryerson University - invites applicants for a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor rank, commencing August 1, 2013. Applicants with expertise in the History and Theory of Psychology, and an interest in teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in this area. Applicants should submit a letter of application, a curriculum vitae, 3 recent research publications, results of teaching surveys, and the names of at least 3 individuals who could be contacted for reference letters. Queen's University, Department of Psychology - invites applications from suitably qualified candidates interested in teaching a course in Psychology PSYC 300/6.0 (50%). This is a winter term appointment for the period January 1, 2013 to April 30, 2013. Applications will be received until October 5, 2012. For more information click here.

The University of Toronto, Department of Psychology -  invites applications for two tenure-stream appointments: one in the field of computational neuroscience, and the other in the field of developmental neuroscience. These appointments will be at the rank of assistant professor and will begin on July 1, 2013.
