New Perspectives on the Psychology of Understanding - Fordham University, with the support of a grant from the John Templeton Foundation, invites proposals for the "New Perspectives on the Psychology of Understanding" funding initiative.  This $1.2 million RFP is intended to support empirical work in cognitive, developmental, educational, and other areas of psychology.  For more information click here and visit the website:

Canadian Youth Environmental Leadership Scholarship -
offered by Cenovus Energy with The Delphi Group, CN, ARC Resources and GLOBE Foundation.  The scholarship will contribute to the advancement of new ideas and new ways of thinking when it comes to protecting the environment by supplorting students who demonstrate a commitment to leadership and the environment.  It will be awarded to two Canadian students who have completed at least two years of an undergraduate program, who best combine academic achievement and public environmental service.  In order to apply, students need to be nominated by their dean, another faculty member or community leader.  For more information click here. or visit the website for application and nomination forms:

The Canadian Graduate Journal of Sociology and Criminology (CGJSC) is a peer-reviewed, open-access, bilingual and online journal hosted by the University of Waterloo. It is intended as a journal for graduate students at both the master and doctoral level. The aim of CGJSC is to extend intellectual boundaries by providing students with a setting to share new and innovative research ideas and by providing networking opportunities for students across Canada. CGJSC is actively seeking submissions of original research for our special upcoming thematic issue entitled “Women and Prisons”, which is expected to be published March 2014 in celebration of International Women’s Month.
