The event will take place Monday, September 16 from noon to 1pm in front of Stauffer Library, Queen's Campus. Speakers include Ted Hsu, M.P. for Kingston and the Islands, Prof. John Smol, and Prof. Peter Hodson among others. Benchmark testing, founded by Mat Mulberry, conducts specialized on ice training for hockey players. They specialize in the application of state of the art athlete timing by using gate equipment that features products that lead the sports assessment and training industry for wireless timing, reaction training and assessment. This allows Benchmark to host, track, analyse, evaluate, compare and report on performance data. His reasons for contacting Queen’s Department of Psychology and Queen’s School of Kinesiology and Health Studies, is that he is in search for a department, faculty member or graduating student that would have any interest in conducting a study or research project with Benchmark Testing. He sees it as a great opportunity for both parties as this includes conducting on-ice testing for Queen’s Men’s Varsity Hockey Team for the 2013/2014 season, starting with Testing Session #1 taking place at the end of September. He believes this is a unique study, as no such study has/is taking place that can apply the sets of data we can collect over a period of time and then suggests different reasons for a players performance, both mentally and physically. You can learn more about Benchmark Testing at www.benchmark-testing.com, on Facebook and Twitter @MatBenchmark.Or contact Mat directly at (613)363-2291
