As the Chair of the 2009/10 Alumni Award for Excellence in Teaching selection committee, I am writing to draw your attention to the annual request for nominations. This award is given annually to a Queen's professor who, in the view of his/her students and colleagues, demonstrates superior abilities as a teacher and commitment to effective learning. The winner receives a statue and $5,000. The deadline for nominations and supporting documentation is February 25, 2011. The Alumni relations office is featuring a special film screening and lecture by Oscar winning documentary film-maker Brigitte Berman on January 19, 2011. She will be presenting her film “Hugh Hefner: Playboy, Activist and Rebel” at the Etherington Auditorium. The event is open to all Faculty, Staff, Students and the general public. General admission is $10 or $5 with valid Student ID.
