This 5 week program embraces the musicianship elements of the RCM syllabus at preparatory through to Grade 3 level. Under the direction of Clare Gordon, participants will address skill development and exam readiness, while allowing instrumental instructors to maximize practical lesson time. This program will focus on the theoretical basis and practical application of:
Classes will take place on Tuesdays in Harrison-LeCaine Hall, room 213, at Queen’s University, from 4-5pm. Designed to prepare students for January 2013 RCM examinations (January 14th - 26th), 4 sessions will run between Tuesday 4th December – Tuesday 18th December 2012, Tuesday 8th January and Tuesday 15th January 2013.
This course will also be offered in preparation for the June 2013 RCM examinations (June 10th - 29th). Course dates to be confirmed.
This course will run with a minimum of 4 and maximum of 10 children, 12 years old and under, on any instrument. Exam registration is not a prerequisite but students should be currently working at the RCM preparatory through to Grade 3 level (through Suzuki book 2).
All participants must bring to each session:
Course fee: $90 per person.
Registration fee: $40 per family per year. This fee covers registration for all programs within the Conservatory over the year.
