Chad Yacobucci                                                      Guitar / Guitar Ensemble

While completing his B.Sc. in Mathematical Physics (2004-2008) at Queen’s University, Chad Yacobucci was an active member of the music community at Queen's School of Music and Queen's Conservatory of Music.  He was a student of and later a teaching assistant to Jeff Hanlon at QCM.  He continued his musical education at The University of Toronto and completed a Master of Music in Classical Guitar Performance in 2014 under Dr. Jeffery McFadden.  Chad is currently working towards his Doctor of Musical Arts in Guitar Performance.

In 2012, Chad formed the Altius Duo with guitarist Adam Batstone. The Altius Duo has performed extensively throughout Ontario and Quebec at numerous festivals and concert series, including The Sauble Beach Guitar Festival, Brantford Guitar Society Concert Series, as well as opening for Roland Dyens at The Guitar Society of Toronto Guitar Series.  The Altius Duo continues to perform outreach and education concerts for Toronto area schools through The Guitar Society of Toronto.

In addition to maintaining a private guitar studio, Chad sits on the Board of The Guitar Society of Toronto, and directs and conducts the affiliated Guitar Orchestra. He is excited to return to QCM as director of the Guitar Ensemble.
