Tenor Robert Martin is a graduate of Queen’s University, where he studied both voice and piano under Bruce Kelly and June Richards, respectively. Robert went on from there to the Opera Division of The University of Toronto. He then was accepted into the Canadian Opera Company Ensemble Studio, where he performed comprimario roles and chorus on the main stage and principal roles with Ensemble productions. While in the Ensemble, Robert received instruction from Marlena Maliss, Stuart Hamilton, Margaret Singer and other voice teachers and coaches. Robert sang with the COC for over six years and also sang principal roles with Opera in Concert, Toronto Operetta Theatre etc. Robert has sung in concert with the Kingston Symphony, Quinte Symphony, Peterboro Singers and more. Robert has taught voice in Belleville for over ten years and is thrilled to join the Queen’s Conservatory of Music.
