All students wishing to pursue group or private instruction through Queen's Community Music must first register for instruction BY CLICKING HERE .
You will be asked to create a student profile, through which you will do all registration this year, and in the years to come. Once your profile is complete and you have received your password, you can go back in to register. For those who used the system in 2013/14 your profile will still be there. For families, a family profile can be created to keep all members of one household connected to one registration fee.
You can register for either Group Instruction or Private Lessons at any one time, which will lead to a single invoice. If you wish to register for both Group Instruction AND Private Lessons, you will need to register for one and then the other. With your first course registration, you will be asked for a Policy Agreement, Statement of Consent, and a Photo Waiver. These agreements will apply to your profile for all of your subsequent registrations in the relevant instructional year (September – August).
Private Lessons – Select Lesson Plan, instrument, instructor, lesson duration. All registrations for private lessons must then be approved by the QCM office before payment can be made. This is to ensure that instructors have availability to teach a particular student before any payment has been made. Consultations for new students must happen at this point in the process if they have not happened already. Once a student’s registration request has been approved, an email will be sent to the student informing that their invoice is ready for payment. Lessons can begin once payment has been made.
Group Instruction – Course selection is organized by session (Fall Term, Fall/Winter, Full Year, Winter Term). If you are unsure about when your course is offered, full schedule details can be found in the relevant course description under the Group Instruction tab. Payment can be made online directly at the time of registration.
Invoices will reflect either Group classes or Private lessons. If you sign up for more than one group class at one time, they will be combined on a single invoice. If you sign up for multiple private lesson plans, they will be combined on a single invoice. However, group classes and private lessons can not be combined on a single invoice due to the different payment plan options that are available for different types of instruction. You will be able to view all of your invoices through your student profile.
Payment for all tuition and registration fees can now be made online through the registration system. If a credit card is not available to you, we will accept cheques and money orders at the office. Please note that your registration is not complete until payment has been received or a payment plan has been established.
The optional Accompanist Fee will be payable by cheque or money order only, and will be accepted with each concert application. This option is not currently available online, but we hope to add concert registration and the Accompanist Fee into the online system next year. Please note that the $35 Accompanist Fee will be applied to each concert this year.
