Kiri Hauck - Violin

Eileen Beaudette

Kiri Hauck began studying the Suzuki Method at the age of 4.  She grew up in a musical home and when she was 12 she decided that she wanted to pass along her knowledge and teach the violin.  She has never lost that ambition.

Originally from Ottawa, she attended Canterbury High School for Performing Arts (2005-2009) studying with John Pohran.  Kiri was involved with the Ottawa Youth Orchestra for 3 years, travelling and performing in Canada, London, Budapest, and Vienna. She pursued post-secondary studies in Music Performance at Santa Barbara City College (SBCC) from 2009-2012, during which time she frequently performed in jazz groups at nightclub venues and in musical pit performances.  She has performed as soloist on the National Arts Centre stage under the guidance of Pinchas Zukerman, and was a solosist with the Santa Barbara Symphony.

Kiri paused her studies to pursue Suzuki teacher training, achieving  certification in books 1-4.  For the past 4 years she has grown her own business, Hauck Studio, located in Ottawa.  In 2016 she returned to Queen’s University as a Mature Student to complete a Bachelor of Music.  Kiri enjoys working with beginner students of all ages.
