Bryne Purchase, PhD (Economics)

Dr. Bryne Purchase is an Adjunct Professor, specializing in energy policy, in the School of Policy Studies at Queen’s University.
He is a former Chief Economist of Ontario and a former Deputy Minister of Finance, Deputy Minister of Revenue and Deputy Minister of Energy, Science and Technology in Ontario. He is also a former director of the Ontario Innovation Trust, Ontario SuperBuild Corporation, Ontario Financing Authority, Ontario Electricity Financial Corporation and OPG Ventures Corporation.
Dr Purchase has held positions at Strategico (a corporate strategy and public policy consulting company), the Economic Council of Canada and the C.D. Howe Institute. He has a Ph.D. in economics and is the author and editor of a number of publications relating to economics and competitiveness.
