A. The assignment calculator is an online tool developed by the University of Minnesota Libraries to help students create a timeline for completing their assignments. It assigns a percentage of time to each task necessary to complete an assignment and then, using the current and due dates the student enters, produces a schedule of tasks within the timeline.
A. The assignment calculator is designed to help students manage their time when working on an assignment. Research has shown that many people are more comfortable with completing a series of small tasks than they are facing an assignment in its entirety - the calculator shows you what these steps are and tells you how long to spend on each. This tool also has resource links to help you with each step of the assignment. Since all of the QLC resources are easily accessible on the ground floor of Stauffer Library you can find help in one location.
A. No - the Queen's Learning Commons Assignment Calculator produces a general, non-course specific timeline . This means that the calculator can be used by virtually any student for any assignment and still be helpful. If you are interested in seeing some calculators that are course specific, check out this selection of other calculators: Research Paper Assistance Calculators.
