A. The QLC is made up of five partners: the Library, ITServices, Learning Strategies Development, the Writing Centre and the Adaptive Technology Centre. Each of these partners offer different services to the student body and have been brought together in one, easily accessible location in the Learning Commons. Please visit the QLC Student Assistants at the main information desk in Stauffer for more information.
A. Come visit a reference librarian at any one of the campus libraries for help with your research. Take note of varying hours: Hours of Operation. For research help in the QLC please see the LRS Hours: LRS Hours.
A. The Writing Centre offers multiple services to help students improve their writing skills. These include free workshops, credit courses and the very popular one-on-one tutorial sessions where students can go over their work with a writing professional. A. Learning Strategies Development offers a range of services to help students improve their learning skills. These include free workshops, peer mentoring and professional consultations. Visit the Learning Strategies Development website for more information: Learning Strategies Development.
A. ITServices offers technical support to all Queen's students. You may contact their call centre at 613-533-6666 from off-campus or visit their first-level support centre at the Stauffer Library main information desk.
A. The services in the Adaptive Technology Centre (ATC), run by Library Services for Students with Disabilities, are accessible to students who have an identification card from Health Counselling and Disability Services (HCDS). Please show your card at the Circulation Desk in Stauffer Library and you will receive a key card to access the ATC. If you think you may need to take advantage of the ATC services, please visit HCDS in the LaSalle Building for further information.
A. All of the QLC Workshops and the Writing Centre tutorials are provided free-of-charge to Queen's students, staff and faculty. A select few workshops may ask for a $2 contribution to cover the photocopying costs of handouts.
