Queen’s School of English is celebrating 70 years of achievements!
Over the past 70 years, our language school has welcomed thousands of domestic and international students from all over the world to learn English. What once started out as the Summer School of English has now become one of the longest standing English language schools in Canada offering a variety of ESL programs, including academic studies, business internships, short-term programs and tailored options.
Memories, Experiences and Accomplishments
As we celebrate this important milestone together, some of our former students and staff have been sharing their memories of QSoE. Read what they wrote to us.
Were you a past student, teacher, monitor or administrative staff at QSoE? Perhaps you had the wonderful experience of hosting international students in your home? Maybe you have visited our school or you’re currently here now. No matter what connection it may be, we invite you to celebrate Queen’s School of English’s achievements over the past 70 years.
Submit a memory, a profile of where you are now and/or contribute some photos. All submissions, questions or comments can be sent to qsoe70@queensu.ca.

It was a great honour for us to hear speeches by the Principal Daniel Woolf, Dr. Jim Lee (Vice Provost, International), Dr. Brenda Ravenscroft (Associate Dean, Faculty of Arts and Science) and Jim Neill (Deputy Mayor, Councillor). You are invited to read some of the speeches and other messages from our partners on our 70th Anniversary Messages page.
During the Open House, the visitors had an opportunity to learn more about Queen's School of English history, programs, local and international involvement, homestay program, and more as they explored many of our theme rooms. The visitors also had a chance to participate in our Open House Prize Draw. The door prizes were sponsored by some of our Business Internship Program hosts
