Payment Methods

1.   How do I pay my fees (tuition, deposits and UHIP)?

The School of English will send an invoice after we have received your application form and have obtained your Queen’s student ID number. The invoice will itemize fees owing in accordance with your application form and will give details about payment methods.

We accept the following payment methods:

  1. Bank Wire Transfer
  2. Western Union Quick Pay (ask for the special Queen’s rate)
  3. Internet Bill Payment through your financial institution (within Canada only)
  4. In person method through any Bank of Montreal (within Canada only)

We do not accept personal cheques, certified bank cheques, money orders or credit card payments. Fees can be paid in Canadian (or U.S.*) dollars. For more information please see Registrar’s Office.

Please ensure all payments are addressed to “Queen’s University” and that your student number (reference #) is included.

Note: Local bank service fees may apply.

*Students who pay in U.S. dollars will receive a refund for the Canadian dollar exchange if they have overpaid. If they have underpaid they will have to pay the balance owing.

2.   Can I use traveler’s cheques and credit cards for payments at the university (i.e. activities, food, books, etc.)?

Yes, both travelers’ cheques and credit cards are accepted forms of payment at venues across the university. Please be advised that some food venues on campus may only accept cash. Nevertheless, there are bank machines available on campus.
