Conversation Partner Program
The School of English, through the Conversation Partner Program, provides our students with the opportunity to engage in weekly meetings with fluent English speakers.
In the Fall and Winter sessions, our volunteers lead small, relaxed groups in conversation, and are committed to meeting on a weekly basis throughout the session.
This is a great opportunity for international students to practice their speaking and listening skills with Canadians. They are also given the chance to share their culture, as well as learn more about the other cultures in the group.
Students interested in being paired with a conversation partner will be encouraged to do so after their classes begin. Only students who are committed to regular attendance, participation and punctuality should request a partner.
Please note, volunteers are limited and are available on a first come, first served basis. Occasionally, if there are not enough volunteers, upper level students in the EAP program may act as volunteers.
Volunteers are needed for the Fall and Winter sessions only.
If you are interested in becoming a Conversation Partner, please contact the QSoE office.
Thank you for your interest in the Conversation Partner Program. See you there!
