Admission to Undergraduate Programs

Requirements:

  • Beginning with applications for the 2008/9 academic year, if a final grade of A- or higher in the ESLA 140 (Advanced) level or a final grade of B or higher in the ESLA 150 (University Preparation) level is achieved at the time of application, an English language test score may not be required. For more information on undergraduate programs, please visit Queen's Undergraduate Admissions.

Application Procedures:

  • All exam waiver approvals are done in consultation with the QSoE.
  • Applicants to an undergraduate program should notify Admission Services in writing that they have completed a 12-Week EAP Advanced or University Preparation Level course.
  • Admission Services will contact the QSoE on behalf of the applicant to determine if a waiver is appropriate.
  • The applicant will be advised of the decision by Admission Services.
  • Applicants should be prepared to write a test of facility in English prior to the deadline for submission of documentation in the case that a waiver is not granted.

Note: Students who are enrolled in the Winter session of the Queen’s 12-Week EAP Advanced or University Preparation level English course should be aware that they must submit all other required documents, and achieve a high standing in their English program, to be considered for the English proficiency exam waiver.
