What Program(s) did you enroll in?
I was in the 12-Week EAP Program (120 & 130).

How long did you study at QSoE?
I studied for 7 months.

Why did you want to learn English?
I wanted to learn English to help me find a job and to widen travel possibilities.

What did you like about studying at QSoE?
The activity Programs were a great opportunity to practice speaking and understanding English and develop friendships.  The English-Only Policy helped me to stay focused and reach my goals faster.

What did you like to do in your spare time in Kingston?
I really enjoyed going on trips to other cities near Kingston and exercising in the new Athletics and Recreational Centre.

What is your favourite restaurant in Kingston?
My favourite restaurant was the all-you-can-eat Panda Garden because I could enjoy as much as I wanted and there was a large choice of food.

Name one favourite memory from your time at the QSoE?
My favourite memory involved a night spent at Silent Lake as one of the planned activities. In the night, a raccoon came to our camp looking for food for about 30 minutes! Also, a squirrel tried to steal my snacks!  It was an interesting and surprising experience.

What are your personal experiences? What are you doing now?
I work in a furniture company as a planning and management officer.

Any additional comments?
I am very happy that I chose to study at QSoE and would like to return if I get the chance.

What Program(s) did you enroll in?
I’ve been in the 12-week EAP program (120&130) since the Fall 2012 session.

How long did you study at QSoE?
I’ve studied for 5 months.

Why did you want to learn English?
I’m interested in global marketing, so I wanted to improve my speaking and listening skills. Also, English is really important to get a job in Korea.

What did you like about studying at QSoE?
QSoE has an English only rule which makes it helpful to improve speaking and listening skills. Also, the socio-cultural activity program is really helpful to make friends and a great opportunity to learn about other countries’ cultures.

What did you like to do in your spare time in Kingston?
I’m living with my housemate, so I spend almost all of my time at home doing house chores like cooking or laundry. But, after school, I usually go to the library or the Queens Centre to review and do homework. Also, I spend my time at the ARC (Athletics and Recreation Centre) exercising. I enjoyed sightseeing during vacations or Break Week.

What is your favourite restaurant in Kingston?
My favourite restaurants are Copper Penny and Niji in downtown Kingston. Also, I like Smoke’s Poutine on Division street.

Name one favourite memory from your time at the QSoE?
I will never forget the times that I spent with my friends, especially the Halloween party at QUIC (Queen’s University International Centre)and the potluck party for celebrating New year’s day.

What are your personal experiences? What are you doing now?
I’m still enjoying studying English at QSoE.

Any additional comments?
I was lucky that I chose QSoE for studying abroad because of the opportunity is has provided. It’s a proper place to study English. I am able to improve my English more than I thought, because there are not so many Koreans at QSoE. Apart from learning English, I also learned about various cultures at QSoE. I hope that you can experience this awesome opportunity as I have.
