Citizenship and Immigration Canada has announced that, as of July 14, citizens of Mexico and the Czech Republic will now require a Temporary Resident Visa (TRV) to enter Canada. The TRV is basically an entry visa. This will be required in addition to a valid study permit or work permit (if applicable). That means that upon the next entry into Canada (and any future entries) citizens of these countries will now need to present a valid TRV in addition to their valid study permit or work permit. Those planning to enter as a visitor, will require only the TRV.
For those currently in Mexico, TRV applications should be submitted to the Canadian Visa Office in Mexico, D.F.
If you are currently in the Czech Republic, your TRV application should be submitted to the Canadian Visa Office in Vienna, Austria.
