Changes to Payroll for the PeopleSoft Human Resources system include improvements to each employee’s pay slip, more formally known as a pay advice. The new, more detailed pay slip will be received by Queen’s employees every time they are paid. It will include information on earnings, benefits and taxes. The pay slip contains several new features. A changed layout is designed to facilitate easy reading, and increased detail provides employees with a better understanding of their pay. Additional information includes the employee’s home address, department, location, job title, and rate of pay. Employer paid benefits, more comprehensive tax data, and a list of hours and earnings are also now included.

The total gross, CIT taxable amount, total taxes, total deductions, and net pay are then calculated using the data in these categories.
