Popup Settings

To use the PeopleSoft application, end users must turn off popup blocking for the PeopleSoft site. Third party browser plugins such as Yahoo search bar, Google search bar, and MSN search bar may have built in popup blockers. These third party popup blockers must be turned off for PeopleSoft sites.

Security Settings (for Windows XP and Vista)

In order to be able to download PeopleSoft grids to Microsoft Excel, you must first enable downloads in Internet Explorer by doing the following:
  1. Within Internet Explorer, navigate to Tools > Internet Options and click on the "Security" tab.
  2. Select the "Custom level" pushbutton:

3. Scroll down to Downloads > Automatic Prompting for File Downloads and click on the "Enable" radio button:

You will also need to enable scripted windows:

4. Continue to scroll down to the "Scripting" area and click on the "Enable" radio button under "Allow websites to prompt for information using scripted windows":

5. Select OK. Image of OK button
6. Select OK again. Image of OK button
To be able to access reports in Microsoft Excel format, you will need to:
7.  Navigate to Tools > Folder Options in Windows Explorer (for Windows XP):

8. Click on the File Types tab and scroll down to XLS extensions. Highlight the XLS extension and click on the Advanced button:

9. Make sure the "Confirm open after download" and "Browse in same window" checkboxes are unchecked:

Clearing Your Cache (for Windows XP and Vista)

1.  Navigate to Tools > Internet Options:

2.  On the General tab, under Browsing History, select Delete:

3.  In the Delete Browsing History window, uncheck the following three boxes:

  • Preserve Favorites website data
  • Cookies
  • History

4. Click on Delete; files will be deleted.
