Grade Distributions

 

 

Through the SOLUS Student Center, students and alumni are able to generate Grade Distribution Reports which include the enrolment, class average, and distribution of marks for a given course and / or term. 

The following sections demonstrate how reports can be produced.

 

• Before you begin...

  Your NetID

  In order to login to the SOLUS Student Center, you will be asked to provide your NetID and password.   Some alumni may not remember their NetID, while others may never have been issued one while they were students.   The NetID is an issued combination of letters and numbers which is unique to each student. Think of it as your individual passkey to unlocking online services from Queen's.   If you don't have a NetID, you can activate one by going to http://www.queensu.ca/getid   This utility will require two things - one of which is your Student ID Number. If you do not remember your Student ID Number, you can contact the Office of the University Registrar at 613.533.2040, and our staff will be able to assist you.   If you have your NetID, and don't remember your password, you can do either of the following: If you created your Challenge Questions and supplied an Alternate Email address, you can use the  Self Service Password Reset Tool If you did not create your Challenge Questions and did not supply an Alternate Email address, you will have to contact the IT Support Centre at 613.533.6666 or complete the Online Help Form

  Pop-ups Welcome

  If you are planning on printing forms from the SOLUS Student Center, please ensure that your web browser (Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Safari, Google Chrome) is set to allow pop-up windows.   SOLUS generates form requests by producing them in an Adobe pdf format in a new browser window. If your browser is set to block pop-ups, then your forms will not appear on your computer.   In order to help users be able to allow pop-ups, an instruction sheet has been produced that lists the steps involved. • Logging into the SOLUS Student Center

  	The MyQueens Portal  is the access point that leads to many online services, including the SOLUS Student Center   A link to the MyQueensU Portal can be found on the Queen's University homepage.   The Portal can also be accessed by going to  http://my.queensu.ca/dt
  	The Portal sign-on page will require you to use your NetID and password.   If you do not remember your NetID and password, or do not yet have a NetID, please review the information in the 'Before you begin' section of this page.
  	The MyQueen's Portal consists of three tabs - Home, Palette, and My Library.   Access to the SOLUS Student Center is found in the body of the Palette tab.   Please note that if a link to SOLUS does not appear here, you can locate it by the following steps:   1. Go to the Home tab; 2. Click on the Options link located in the top right hand corner of the screen (grey area); 3. From the choices, select "Add Application" 4. A pop-up menu will appear on the left hand side of the screen. Scroll through this menu to find SOLUS Student Center, then click on 'Add' 5. A link to the SOLUS Student Center will now appear in the body of the page under the Home tab now and every time you login to the Portal.
  	A pop-up box will appear, asking whether you wish to navigate away from the page - click 'Yes'.   You will then be taken to a new page that offers a menu selection of Self-Service.   By clicking here, you will be taken to your main page in the SOLUS Student Center.

• Generating a Grade Distribution Report

  	From SOLUS on the main Student Center page select Grades and click the double arrows
  	Select a term that grades have been posted for:
  	After selecting the right term, click on the green 'Continue' icon
  	Push the Grade Distribution button
  	A report will be generated in a PDF format in a new screen.   If you experience problems with the report producing, your web browser may be set to block pop-up windows. Please consult the instructions in the 'Before you begin...' section related to Pop-ups.
