2012 February 15 - Important Changes to your Official Transcript (Dropped courses)
Queen’s University is changing the way a dropped course is handled on your official transcript.
  • Before May 1, 2011, each Faculty/School recorded dropped courses on transcripts differently.
  • As of May 1, 2011, courses dropped after “Open Enrolment” (the add/drop period) but before your program’s drop date deadline, showed on your transcript as a “DR”.

What has changed?

In January 2012, Queen’s Senate passed a motion that a dropped course (DR) will not appear on the transcript if the course was dropped before your program’s drop date deadline.  This is retroactive back to May 1, 2011.

If you have dropped a course since May 1, 2011 and it was made before your program’s deadline, the drop (DR) will be removed from your transcript this week.

In the future

Please be proactive when dropping a course and make sure you drop it before your program’s deadline!  You can find out the deadlines by looking at your Faculty/School sessional dates for 2011/12 here.

If you want to drop a course after the deadline, you need to contact your Faculty/School office.
