Are you the first in your family to attend post-secondary education in Canada? Are you interested in helping other First Generation students?
The University Experience Program (UEP) is a high school outreach program run by the Office of the University Registrar. Now in its fifth year, the UEP strives to support, encourage, and excite First Generation students about the possibilities of post-secondary education through a variety of hands-on activities and workshops, including opportunities to meet with current university students and professors. The cornerstone of the UEP is a one day, on campus event that offers students and their families an opportunity to see first-hand what their university experience could be like, complete with classes, tours and workshops.
This year's UEP will take place on Saturday, April 10th, 2010, from approximately 10:00 am to 5:00 pm. We are currently seeking volunteers to act as tour guides and mentors - and we would love your help! If you are available to volunteer on that day, please contact Lindsay Monkman (lindsay.monkman@queensu.ca).
