As you may know, Queen's University will soon be transitioning to a new financial administrative system. This transition will affect the University's Financial Services office and students' financial accounts.
What does this mean for students?
All financial transactions will be placed on hold from November 20th to November 29th and, as a result QCARD fee statements will not be updated during the 10 day period. Your financial statement on QCARD will be "frozen" as of November 19th until the systems comes back online. This means that if, for example, a winter term course is dropped or added on QCARD between November 20th and 29th, the change will show on your timetable, but your fee account statement will not reflect the financial transaction.
During this transition period November 20th - November 29th:
For those of you who are graduate students and are currently on the pre-authorized payment plan (PAPP), the payment will be processed in the usual way and will be taken from your personal bank account on November 30th.
We do not anticipate that this transition will cause any problems with students' financial accounts. You should be able to see transactions that took place from November 20th to 29th on your QCARD fee account statement on November 30th.
We understand that this may cause concern for some students, but we do ask for your patience in this matter. If you check your QCARD account on November 30th and have questions about your account, please feel free to contact us by email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Any questions, unrelated to your personal QCARD Account status, may be sent by email to email@example.com at any time.
