All prospective graduates MUST submit their application to graduate via the SOLUS Student Centre.

Application windows for  Fall 2017 Convocation begin July 15th, 2017

Attention Arts & Science Medials:  Please attend ceremony by first alphabetical department, using the Program Plan Code rather than the name.

For example, if your concentrations are ENGL (English Language and Literature) in Ceremony 5 and DEVS (Global Development Studies) in Ceremony 2, you will attend Ceremony 2.

Attendance:

  • Graduates are asked to arrive at Kingston Hall at least ninety (90) minutes prior to their ceremony (8:30 a.m.)
  • Graduates will process from Kingston Hall to Grant Hall at 9:45 a.m.

Hoods and Gowns:

  • Hoods and Gown rentals for Convocation are provided by the Alma Mater Society (AMS), in conjunction with Gaspard. Orders may be placed online at http://buildagrad.ca/queensu
  • Online ordering for this ceremony runs from July 15th at 10:00 a.m. (EST) to November 6th at 5:30 p.m. (EST)
  • Regalia may be rented on the day of your ceremony, but at an increased price. Visit our Information For Graduates page for more details
  • Hoods and gowns are distributed in Kingston Hall (1st Floor).

Degrees, Diplomas and Certificates:

  • Your parchment will be available for pick up after the ceremony when you return your regalia
  • Photo identification is required
  • Hours: 10:45 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.

Guest Seating:

  • Limit of three (3) guests per graduand (No physical tickets are required)
  • Graduates must confirm invited guest numbers via SOLUS (My Academics >> Maintain Convocation Details)
  • The deadline to confirm guest numbers in SOLUS is October 26th
  • A Special Viewing Room is provided in Kingston Hall (Room 101) for invitees unable to secure seating in Grant Hall
