Spring 2020 Degree Conferral and Graduation activities

The ongoing public health response to COVID-19 continues to have wide-ranging impacts on campus operations, including our ability to host traditional convocation celebrations for our Spring 2020 graduates at this time.

The opportunity to mark this milestone alongside family and friends is incredibly important and planning is underway to offer in-person celebrations to ensure the university is ready to offer Spring 2020 graduates the experience they deserve, once safety guidelines permit. Until that time, Queen’s is on schedule to confer degrees over the coming days and weeks.

Below, you will find special video messages from the Principal, Chancellor, and Rector, as well as links to information on faculty-based graduate recognition activities and the lists of conferred graduates that will be uploaded on a rolling basis.

Convocation update for Spring 2020 Graduates - March 1, 2021

The university remains committed to providing you with a meaningful in-person convocation experience – an opportunity to return to campus with your families, friends, and classmates, and cross the convocation stage in celebration of your significant accomplishments at Queen’s.

While we had hoped to be able to invite you back this spring, as a consequence of the ongoing pandemic and the knowledge that public health restrictions will continue for some months yet, we have made the decision to postpone in-person Spring 2021 convocation ceremonies. We recognize this is another disappointment for our 2020 and Spring 2021 graduates. It is disappointing for the university as well, as convocation is a highlight for the entire campus community.

Please be assured that we will gather as soon as it is safe to do so, with whatever modifications may be required to mitigate the risks of COVID-19.

We will stay in touch about rescheduled in-person convocation as soon as we can be confident of timing.  You can also continue to check this webpage for updates.
