The School of Religion at Queen's University recognizes that undertaking graduate work in any discipline requires a serious investment of time and money on the part of students. We are committed to assisting students in every way possible to meet the financial costs of this program.
A schedule showing tuition fees for domestic students and international students may be found at the registrar's web page. In the past we have been able to offer some tuition bursaries to international students that will bring their fees down to the domestic rate.

Graduate students are expected to apply to external granting agencies for student awards. Subsequently, they will be considered without further application for Queen's fellowships. Graduate students may be employed as departmental teaching assistants and as research assistants by individual faculty members. In addition, the School of Graduate Studies provides Queen's Graduate Awards, Dean's Awards, and other discretionary awards. Further information is available from the Graduate school.
Each student accepting an offer of admission receives financial assistance through a combination of external and/or internal awards, and teaching or research assistantships. The School of Religion will continue to seek out a small number of highly qualified students to whom it can offer adequate financial support.
In order to be considered for financial aid, you must request financial aid on your application form. Requesting financial aid does not prejudice your application in any way.
The Ontario Graduate Scholarship (OGS) program is designed to encourage excellence in graduate studies at the master’s and doctoral levels. An Ontario Graduate Scholarship is awarded for one academic year, which may consist of two or three consecutive terms. The value of the OGS is $5,000 per term. Thus, you may receive $15,000 for three consecutive terms of study.
The School of Religion can award two (2) Ontario Graduate Scholarships in 2014-15.
Applicants who wish to be considered for an OGS will be directed to the Queen’s School of Graduate Studies OGS website. There they will find a link to the online Queen's University OGS application, as well as information about the application process. Applicants will also have to complete and submit the one page Statement of Interest (mandatory for OGS), the one page list of Awards/Publications (optional), the one page list of Other Significant Accomplishments (optional) and the Application Checklist (mandatory). These forms will be available from the Queen’s SGS OGS website and applicants will email them directly to the department/program to which they have applied. Since applicants will also submit an Application for Admission to Graduate Studies they will not need to provide additional letters of reference or transcripts in support of the OGS application.
