Degree Programs

In January 2015, the Dean initiated the Senate Policy and Procedures for the closing of Theology programs..  For more information, see our Theology page.

The School of Religion offers two types of degree programs in Theology:

  • Professional - Master of Divinity (MDiv), Bachelor of Theology (BTh).  Both of these degrees can be done with an additional concentration in Restorative Justice.
  • Graduate - Master of Theological Studies (MTS)

The MDiv/BTh program is intended for people interested in ordained ministry, chaplaincy or lay work in Christian churches.  There are three options for study:

  • 24 month - 6 semesters of continuous study.  Designed for students who want to complete their degree quickly.
  • Traditional full-time - 6 semesters of study, usually spread out over 3 years.
  • Part-time - courses completed at the student's pace, over a period of time up to a maximum of 10 years.

The MTS is intended for students interested in more academic study of Theology, and provides the opportunity to focus research on a particular aspect of Christianity.  It is a 4 semester program, that can be completed full-time or part-time.

Our internationally recognized faculty are exceedingly well accomplished and dedicated to providing rigourous and invigorating courses.
