Financial Aid

We have a very generous financial assistance program. We can assist you in meeting the costs of studying Theology at the School of Religion.

Bursary Assistance for Students in Degree Programs

Students in the 24-month MDiv/BTh program will receive $10,000 in bursary assistance over the course of their program.  This bursary is automatic upon admission and students do not need to apply for it.

Students in other Theology degree programs, studying full-time (the equivalent of 16.00 units per term), can expect to receive bursary assistance in the range of $6,000 to $8,000 during their program of study upon application and demonstrated need.  Students studying part-time are also eligible for bursary assistance; the amount will depend on financial need and number of courses being taken each term.  These bursaries do require application.

How to Make a Request for Financial Assistance

These sources of financial assistance are available to students in theology after they have reached the limits of their own resources. All agencies providing aid, including the School of Religion, will require that other sources of income have been accessed, and expect an honest disclosure of personal financial information. In view of this, it is a good idea to prepare in advance a financial statement and a realistic budget.

Any request for assistance from the School requires the completion of the Application for Bursary Assistance (PDF, 25 KB) or from the Main Office.

Bursary applications are reviewed in May (for summer term) and September (for fall and winter terms) of each year.
