Fees and Fee Payment

The College reserves the right to make changes in the scale of fees if, in its opinion, circumstances so require.

Tuition fees are reviewed each year and are dependent on government funding and regulations.

Tuition Fees 2011-2012 (effective 1 May 2011)

As of May 1, 2011, Queen's University will move to a new credit weighting system wherein courses are weighted in units.  The majority of Theology courses will be weighted at 4 units, although some courses will have different unit values.  Consult the Courses page or the Timetable page for the unit value of each course.

To calculate fees:  The values below are per one (1) unit.  Students should find their program and year, then multiply total course units by the appropriate per unit fee, adding the Student Assistance Levy (SAL).

Timing of Payment

Fall and Winter tuition fees are due September 1; Winter term only fees are due January 1; Summer term fees are due May 1 or July 1, depending on the session in which courses are offered. The balance of fees (student activity fees, residence, etc.) for fall and winter terms are due September 30. Such fees for Winter term only and Summer term are due at the time of registration. For amounts, please see the Registrar's Office website at http://www.queensu.ca/registrar/currentstudents/fees.html. Payment details are published on the Registrar's Office website.

Account Information

Students are given access to QCARD, an on-line information system, and are expected to access this system to determine account balances.

Student Activity Fees

The Society of Graduate and Professional Students and the Queen's Theological Student Society collect a variety of fees from full time students covering voluntary contributions of the student body, fees for such services as health insurance, bus transportation, Grad Club, and sport facilities, and other activities. Because students can opt out of some, the total amount of student fees is variable. Student activity fees are assessed in September, and the opt-out period is during the first two weeks of classes in September. Please see the Registrar's Office website for more information.
