Clergy Sabbatical Fellowship Program

The Flora Jane Baker Clergy Sabbatical Fellowship Program is intended to provide opportunity and funding for up to four (4) United Church of Canada congregational ministers a year who are undertaking a church leadership approved sabbatical.

Each successful candidate will receive up to $10,500.00 to support 2-3 months of educational renewal in one of four streams, including:

  • Clinical Pastoral Education;
  • Transformational Leadership;
  • Youth Experience; or
  • Theological Studies.

The streams and courses must be taken at Queen's School of Religion in Theological Studies and include faculty mentoring as available. A basic office with desk, phone and computer will be provided. The "up to $10,500 bursary" is to be used to support living expenses while in Kingston, travel costs, tuition costs and course books. Participation in the life of the School in the form of attendance at chapel and informal discussions with students is welcome. Sabbatical Time beyond the stream and courses chosen is open to the recipient's discretion as befits sabbatical and personal goals.
