Volunteers Sought to be Short-Term Hosts to Foreign Exchange Students

Queen's University International Centre

The International Centre is especially looking for volunteers in three areas:

  • English Language Support (ELS) Volunteers
  • Income Tax Assistance Volunteers
  • International Housing Office Volunteers

Academics for Higher Education and Development (AHED) seeks qualified volunteers for temporary academic positions overseas. All expenses are paid.

Retirees who were members of School of Graduate Studies and Research are invited to volunteer to chair Thesis Defence exams in their former Divisions.

General Research Ethics Board seeks Members

The General Research Ethics Board (GREB) is seeking volunteers, former faculty members from the social sciences, humanities, fine arts, business and education disciplines to serve as GREB members. 

The mandate of GREB is to promote the ethical conduct of research involving humans. In joining the GREB, you will have the opportunity to engage in fascinating discussions about the participation of human subjects in various research projects and help develop policies that facilitate the research process at Queen’s. 

The GREB meets once every month throughout the year and the average time commitment is 6 hours per month. If you are interested in serving as a GREB member, please email the GREB Chair at for more information.
