Lunchtime Guest Series – Dr. Neil Hobbs

Title: “Medical work north of 60: more than just snow and mosquitoes?”

Who: Dr. Neil Hobbs is a Family Physician with an intriguing history of practice, teaching and mentoring in far-flung regions of the world. His larger-than-life career has been lived in Oxford, UK; North West River, Labrador; Moose Factory, Ontario; Southern Newfoundland; Manila, Philippines; Ranau, Sabah, Malaysia;  Levin, North Island, New Zealand; Bosnia-Herzegovina; Sahtu, North West Territories, the Deh’cho area around Fort Simpson in NWT; Te Puke, North Island, New Zealand and of course at Queen’s University! He has specialized in Family Medicine with particular interests in medicine in remote areas of the world, geriatrics, palliative care and chronic pain. He has spent a great deal of time in the North, and we look forward to conversing with an interesting man with a fascinating career.
