Swazi police arrest Mozambican shoppers (Sunday Times, African Eye News Service, 31/10) - Mozambique's embassy has twice lodged complaints with the Manzini police headquarters, in central Swaziland, where most arrests and deportations of Mozambicans are handled. This week the youth secretary at the Mozambican Association in Swaziland, John Mbukutu, said the Swazi police were picking on Mozambicans when they crossed the border to shop. "We are asking the police to ascertain whether they are here for shopping ," Mbukutu said. Swazi police assistant public relations officer Babsy Mavuso said this week they were not formally aware of the problem, but he promised to investigate. - African Eye News Service
