| Foreigners repatriated, (Angola Press Agency, 2005-07-27):-At least 33 foreign citizens who lived illegally in Angola were repatriated by the Migration and Foreign Services (SME) in southern Cunene province from January to June this year. According to the provincial director of the SME in Cunene, Fernando Bento Costa, repatriated were 32 Namibians and one Italian. Another six Namibians were also notified to leave the country, due to illegal stay. Fenando Costa said that during the same period the SME barred another two Namibians from entering the country through the Santa-Clara border post. The official stated as well that following a decision from the Cunene Court, six foreign citizens, among Namibians and Cote D'ivoirean, were repatriated and barred from entering Angola, after they had broken country's immigration regulations. On the other hand, the source informed that 87 Angolans were expelled, through the Santa-Clara post, by the Namibian migration authorities, for irregular stay in that country. Meanwhile, the SME currently controls 51 foreign citizens in the province. They are 32 from Portugal, five from Finland, three from Congo, one from Namibia, one from Germany, Two Cape-verdeans, one São-Tomese two Nigerians, one Brazilian, one Ugandan and a French. The number includes 19 expatriate workers, of whom six are Cuban, six Portuguese, three Namibians, one Indian and a Russian. | |
