Illegal foreigners to face court, (Angola Press, 2005-09-14):-The General Commander of the National Police, Jose Alfredo Ekuikui, on Friday here said that foreign nationals dealing in sale and exploitation of diamonds will be sent to courts. The police chief made this remark after fulfilling a three-day visit to Central Bie Province, where he, among other activities, checked the real situation of Angolans and foreign citizens working on illegal diamond prospecting, at Seteka, Lubia and Dando areas, in Nharea District. Commander Ekuikui underlined that the National Police in partnership with the Army will in the coming days carry out an operation aimed at picking up all foreign citizens located in diamond areas. "Everybody who entered in a non-authorised manner in the Angolan territory and working on exploitation, selling and purchase of diamonds within the country will have his or her day counted", assured the senior police official. During his stay there, Jose Alfredo Ekuikui saw the means seized by the Police at diamond areas of Dando, Lubia and Seteca areas, in Nharea District, as well as 130 illegal foreigners from the Democratic Republic of Congo, Mali, Senegal, Chad, Congo Brazzaville, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, South Africa and Ivory Coast.
