| COMESA makes assurances, (ZNBC, 2006-03-18):-The Common Market for Eastern and southern Africa (COMESA) has assured the cross border traders association that discussions to implement policies on immigration and removal of non tariff barriers in the region are in process. COMESA Acting Secretary General, Sindiso Ngwenya said the aim is to work towards making cross border investment in the region a reality. Mr. Ngwenya said this at the official opening of a workshop on capacity building and cross border trade facilitation in Lusaka. He said COMESA will soon establish a simplified policy on immigration to protect traders from unnecessary inconvienience. Mr. Ngwenya also urged participantes to address issues that concern them to policy makers and the government. Cross Border Traders Association Secretary General, Greenwell Shimukonka appealed to government to involve women in a wider range of activities. | |
