Immigration delays in the spotlight, (Sunday Times, 2006-05-04):-Cabinet has agreed to have a detailed presentation made to it at its next meeting by the Department of Home Affairs on matters relating to the implementation of immigration regulations. Cabinet spokesman Joel Netshitenzhe told the media after the meeting on Wednesday - held in Pretoria/Tshwane - that this would include "such issues as time lags in dealing with applications and any blockages that may undermine the country's effort to attract scarce skills". The next cabinet meeting will be held in two weeks.
