Delimitation of maritime border with Namibia approved, (Angola Press Agency, 2005-01-28):-The Cabinet Council approved today, during its first ordinary session of this year, the resolution proposal of the final report of the Joint Commission of Delimitation and Demarcation of the Maritime Border between Angola and Namibia. Gathered in the Presidential Palace, under the chairmanship of the Angolan Head of State, Jose Eduardo dos Santos, the collegial organ of the Government approved also the organic statute of the Fisheries Ministry, considering well suitable to the current needs for the organising and functioning of the central and local services of the State administration. According to a final communiqué from the meeting, in which it was for the first time attended by the newly appointed Mass Media Minister, Manuel António Rabelais, the new organic statute of the Fisheries Ministry led by Salomão Xirimbimbi will allow the fulfilment of its duties and competencies in the field of management and arrangement of the biological resources of the marine and continental waters. In this ambit, the Government approved also the general regulation of the Fisheries as an instrument that defines the general rules of procedures on its arrangement and the boats and their respective crews, as well as all the activities linked to the fishing field, among other regulations.
